Wigton Moor United -Vs- U11 Girls' - Away 28 Apr 2007 Kick-off 11:30 Lost: 2 - nil

This was always going to be a difficult game to win. Wigton knew that if they defended well and kept a clean sheet they would win the league. From the kick off Idle showed there intentions by trying a shot from long range, but it went wide of the goal. The game settled down and Wigton got in some good passing moves which created some half chances. It was from this that the Wigton Moor attacker scored, placing a shot passed Georgia in goal. Idles reply was a great move involving Megan and Rosie which brought a brilliant save from the Wigton goalkeeper. Wigton scored again from a scramble in the Idle area, the ball falling kindly to a Wigton player who scored passed Georgia. In the second half Idle knew that an early goal would bring them back into the game but strong defending from the very impressive Wigton defence made it difficult for Idle to create any clear chances. As the game went on Idle were frustrated by Wigton slowing the game down at every oppotunity. The refs decisions not give handball against Wigton in front of their goal but then gave a similar decision only a few seconds later to Idle in there own half, made the Idle support wonder if we were going to get any decisions our way. Rosie was clearly fouled on the half way line and not only was a free kick not awarded but with Wigton on the attack he had no intention to stop the game to see if she was ok. At the final whistle Idles dissapointed was clearly to be seen, but Wigton were the better team on the day and deserved the spoils. Congratulations to Wigton, and good luck in the Cup Final. Chin up Idle lets get back to winning ways next week against Bingley and bring on the Shield Cup Final.

Garforth Villa -Vs- U11 Girls' - Away 21 Apr 2007 Kick-off 11:30 Won: nil - 4

Idle needed to win in order to keep the pressure on at the top of the table. With Chelsea and Savanna unable to play Idle started the game with Georgia in goal, Lauren and Rosie in defence, Amelia, Zoe and Dominique in midfield and Roisin up front. Straight from the kick off Idle got stuck in and although they didn't create to many chances they kept pushing there opponents back. From this pressure Idle won a corner which Zoe met at the near post to fire the home side in front. Half time 1 - 0 to Idle. The second half was a different story with Idle starting to play better and create clearer chances in front of goal, but it was another corner in which Idle scored there second goal. Once again Zoe firing home at the near post. Georgia made three very good saves from some excellent long range shots. Rosie scored Idles third goal after a good shot from Megan. Idle pressed forward for more goals and were rewarded when Megan followed up a good shot from Amelia to score Idles forth. Roisin, Lauren, and Dominique played well in keeping Garforths talented players from getting into the match. Final score 4 - o to Idle. Next weeks game looks interesting. Idle can win the league if they manage to get three points away to Wigton Moor. Well done girls.

Pool AFC -Vs- U11 Girls' - Away 15 Apr 2007 Kick-off 12:00 Won: nil - 1

Idle started this match knowing that a win would keep the pressure on at the top of the table. Both sides played a hard but fair game. Idle started slow and it took about 10 minutes for them to get into the game. Lauren and Savanna were solid in defence and Pool were left with having to shoot from long range. Rosie, Amelia and Dominique started in midfield with Chelsea up front. After 15 minutes Megan, Roisin and Zoe were brought on and quickly got stuck in. Idle passed the ball very well and created several chances but fine goalkeeping from the Pool keeper kept the score level. In the second half a dubious free kick was given just outside the Idle area but Georgia was up to the challange and made a great save from the direct free kick. With ten minutes left Idle pressured the Pool goal and finally got their reward, Roisin fired home after some good passing from defence to attack. Idle pushed forward for more goals only to be denied by the Pool strong defence. Final score 0 - 1 Well done girls.

U11 Girls' -Vs- Garforth Rangers - Home 24 Mar 2007 Kick-off 12:00 Won: 4 - 2

Straight from the kick off Idle pressed forward forcing a corner in the 1st minute. Roisin passed the ball to Chelsea who hit a half volley into the Garforth net, 1-0. 30 seconds later a good pass to Chelsea from Rosie saw her hit a first time shot passed the oncoming keeper, 2-0. Although 2-0 down, Garforth soon settled and got into their stride forcing a great save from Georgia who held onto a close range volley. The game was a hard battle in midfield but the idle girls, Roisin, Zoe, Rosie, Dominique, Megan, and Amelia held their own and pushed Garforth onto the back foot. Every corner, Idle looked likely to score. After half time Idle pressed forward again and Rosie increased the lead by scoring Idles 3rd goal, a good shot into the Garforth top corner. Garforth came forward and a good cross from their right hit Savanna and bounce over the line to pull one back for Garforth. Idle didn't panic and with solid defending from Lauren who kept Garforths centre forward in hand, the ball fell to Megan who passed the ball forward quickly and a nice finish from Amelia made the score 4-1. with 2 minutes left Garforths centre forward found some space in the Idle area and shot into the Idle roof of the net, 4-2. Final Score Idle 4 - 2 Garforth. Well done girls for a excellent performance, and once again showing hard work and great determination to defeat a very good side in Garforth Rangers.

U11 Girls' -Vs- Altofts Juniors - Home 17 Mar 2007 Kick-off 12:00 Won: 1 - nil

After our last game against Altofts we knew this wasn't going to be an easy game. Both teams are hard to break down, so any chances in front of goal had to be taken. Idle started well and forced Altofts back with some good passing and firm tackling in midfield. Amelia and Dominique made sure Altofts midfield couldn't get hold of the ball. With Rosie pushing forward to help Chelsea and Megan in attack, Altofts looked likely to concede a goal but with some good goalkeeping and the Altofts crossbar the scoreline remained 0-0. we started the second half with Zoe and Roisin in midfield and Dominique marking Altofts dangerous winger. Lauren played to her usual assured standard and kept most of Altofts goal attempt to long range efforts. the Idle girls pushed forward and hit the crossbar and post and made the Altofts keeper produce some brillient saves. Altofts best chance came from a long throw in, which saw a header just go passed the Idle post. The game ended at 0-0 and extra time began in the same tempo with Idle pussing forward, with some half chances just missing their target. With 1 minute left Rosie received a pass from Amelia and took the Altofts defender on, Rosie created enough space to get her shot away and it hit the back of the net. With very little time left, Altofts got the ball forward but the final whistle sounded. Well done to both teams for a very entertaining game.

With both Amelia and Savanna missing this was always going to be a hard game to play. Idle started brightly and some good saves by the Altofts Keeper kept them in the game. Chances for both sides saw a great game played in what was a very entertaining 0 - 0 game. well played both teams.

Garforth Villa Started well but good work by Lauren and Savanna kept them to long range shooting. Megan started off on the subs bench and made an immediate impact scoring with a great shot from just outside the area. Two more goals saw her complete her hat trick and a goal by Rosie sealed a great win against very strong opponents.

After our last meetings with Garforth, Idle turned up ready to take part in what is always a good game between two evenly matched sides. We knew that if we were to win today we had to be at our best and the girls responded with a great team performance. Georgia in goal pulled off some excellent saves to keep Garforths strong attack at bay. With Dominique in midfield having her best game to date, we held on to win.

We started well and got the ball forward quickly causing Pool problems in defence. Good finishing by Chelsea gave Idle a commanding lead and a strong battling team performance gave Idle the points against a very good side.

Idle returned to winning ways with a very good win against new opponants Bingley. With more passing we could have scored more. Lauren was solid in defence and Rosie, Amelia and Zoe in midfield we never looked like conceding a goal. A good game, well done girls.

U11 Girls' -Vs- Altofts Girls FC - Home 05 Nov 2006 Kick-off 11:00 Lost: 1 - 3

Idle came up against a very well organised Altofts side. A mix up in defence saw Altofts take a 1 - 0 lead but a quick reply saw Idle equalise through Chelsea. After the break Idle pressured the Altofts goal and same great saves by the away keeper kept the score even. The game could have gone either way but it was Altofts who got the breakthrough. A corner for Altofts saw it deflect off Rosies head into the net. One minute later another own goal by Savanna saw Altofts take a 3 - 1 lead. With no time left Altofts won what was a very hard and even fought game. Unlucky girls we will get our bit luck later in the season.

Rothwell Town FC -Vs- U11 Girls' - Away 29 Oct 2006 Kick-off 11:00 Won: nil - 6

Best game this season so far. A very quick start got Idle on the front foot and some good finishing from Rosie saw Idle take an early lead. Further goals by Megan,Rosie and Chelsea gave Idle a 5 - 0 half time lead. Rothwell came out the second half in a more positive manner and good defending by Savanna and Lauren and a good save by Georgia kept them at bay. Rosie finished the game off with a goal towards the end. A good win against a very good side.
