U10s -Vs- Sedbergh - Home
13 Nov 2005 Kick-off 10:30
Won: 3 - 2
|
|
On paper this was going to be a tight game and proved so when the Ref blew the whistle, Sedburgh were up and at us and deservedly scored the opening goal, which, if the ref had seen it should have been disallowed as the ball from the corner went out of play before coming back in again ! The boys were not working hard enough and were second to every ball ! The breakthrough came when we had made some progression into the Sedburgh penalty area and Kane was brought down for a blatant penalty which Joe cooly put away to equalise.Within a couple of the minutes of the re-start the Ref blew for another penalty to Idle for Hand ball .. We were all expecting Joe to step up and take it but the boys had different idea's and Patch was the 'Chosen' one and albeit a VG effort the keeper made a good save. Kane grabbed a second for Idle with some good close control and skill before slotting the ball into the net to make it 2-1 to Idle.Half Time came and Simon gave the boys a few home truths about the lack of commitment and was still explaining where it was going wrong with Sedburgh lined up for the K/O. It seemed to have worked as we started to win balls and apply more pressure. Sedburgh also had some good movement and at times exploited the space which Idle faile to fill ! The second goal from Sedburgh eventually came and Idle were on the ropes. With 2 minutes to go Jimmy came to the rescue and bagged the 3rd for Idle with a great finish which he deserved for his hard work and strength throughout the game MOTM - Was Jimmy ... Gets better every week ! Outstanding Moment - Was Jack Barratt ... GK Rushing out at the Sedburghs attacking player and making a great save. Ref watch .. Showed bottle for giving x 2 penalties in quick succesion and explained his decisions to the parents of Sedburgh, NB The ones at the back of the goal did not complain only the ones on the touchline who could not see because of the size of the pitch!

Thackley -Vs- U10s - Away
06 Nov 2005 Kick-off 10:30
Won: 1 - 3
|
|
The game was touch and go if it was to be played or not due to the heavy rain ! The pitch was playable though and both Teams were ready to go as the rain eased a little. Idle won the toss and off we go Joe takes the lay off perfectly and drives the shot towards goal, the Thackley keeper was unlucky but the ball crossed the line and the boy's are 1 -0 up with 5 seconds on the stopwatch ! Idle were relentless in the first half and were much the stronger team. Patrick was all over the pitch winning the all important tackles and driving forward, and he got the all important second with a great volley from the edge of the box. The second half started much the same but Thackley had more determination than the first half and started to ply the pressure and the goal eventually came making it 2-1. Idle regained their shape when Kane came on for the hard working Joe Mathers and twice came close. Patrick bagged his second through a goal mouth scramble 3-1 to Idle. Harrison was substituted and Karl came on in the centre of Midfield and should have scored with the just the keeper to beat but put it just wide. Another all round strong team performance with Patrick MOTM and Joe receiving the outstanding moment Trophy for the quick thinking and shot for the first goal.

Grassington -Vs- U10s - Away
30 Oct 2005 Kick-off 10:30
Won: 1 - 6
|
|
We got off to a great start from the K/O ! Patrick racing down the wing and hitting the target with a powerfull shot. James followed with another 2 great finishes and Joe with 1 making it 4-0 at half time. The weather conditions were terrible but the lad's did'nt seem to notice, they were fully focused ! Kane bagged another 2 with Grassington scoring a consolation goal albeit an OG due to lack of concentration in defence. MOTM went to Chris Watson for an outstanding solid display. Outstanding Moment went to Joe for determination in wanting to win the ball and drive forward. Altogether an all round solid team performance.

Bags his first hat-trick with other goals coming from Jimmy and Struddy.Kane walks away with both the MOTM trophy and the outstanding moment trophy for his dribble and run for the 1st goal..Well done.

Long Lee -Vs- U10s - Away
09 Oct 2005 Kick-off 10:00
Draw: 2 - 2
|
|
The boys had not trained and all had been on holiday so we were probably at our weakest ! Or so i thought ! They came out of the blocks and Ash put us 1 up with Jimmy making 2-1 at half time. Long Lee score the equalizer and the game becomes even tighter. MOTM is Harrry for a great defensive pereformance and Kane gets the Outstanding moment trophy for concentration and blocking the free kick in the game.

It was always was going to be hard as Prospect 'Throw' 10 Men/Girls behind the ball ! But once we got through we encountered the best keeper we have come up against for a long time.. Outstanding !! Jimmy finally made the breakthrough 1-0. And that is how it finished.. Kane MOTM peppered the wood work and worked defenders. Struddy Outsatnding moment for talking and wanting the ball.

25 Sep 2005 Kick-off 10:00
Won: 1 - 5

Myrtle always give a good game but we hit them early! Ash with the first goal followed by the goal of the season so far from Chris watson- straight from the training ground, A corner, timed run and a header into the top corner ... Well done Chris !.. His dad was in awe !! An OG and 1 from Patch ensured the game was over. Did'nt stop Chris bagging his second from a corner on the volley top corner ! Game over !
